When coping with an accident
It makes sense to be prepared for accidents, just in case. For example, we recommend you keep a disposable camera, pen and paper in your glovebox to prove events when you come to making your insurance claim afterwards.
Here is a brief checklist of things to do if you are unlucky enough to be involved in an accident.
- If necessary, call emergency services
- Take photos of the accident scene and damage to all vehicles
- Obtain details of all parties
- Name and address
- Vehicle make(s) and registration
- Insurance details
- Phone numbers
- Obtain details of a witness

- liaise with your insurance company and that of the negligent party
whilst keeping you informed of progress at all times.
Where an accident was clearly your fault this service may be able to reduce the cost of any claim made against you so it makes sense to take advice at the outset.
