Yesterday we heard from a woman driver wanting to buy a new car.
By the time she spoke to us she was very fed up and no further forward.
She knew exactly what car she wanted to buy – a Citroen C1 and she was a cash buyer.
She had checked her Yellow Pages, not found a close enough car dealership in Surrey and taken the trouble to phone Citroen HQ to check.
The person she spoke to (a switchboard operator perhaps) couldn’t help her and referred her to the Citroen Car Club. This is a car club for members who want to maintain their older and classic Citroens. This car club does not sell new cars and you would imagine that Citroen UK would know this and that they have a network of car dealers desperate for all leads they can get.
Fortunately we were at least able to refer her to her nearest Citroen car dealership, so we did our bit for the industry and hope it was a female friendly one at the end of the day!
But one wonders about the early dissonance in her mind, in such competitive times, when the simplest of internal communications can fall down in this way.
