Britain 'leading the way in green motoring'
Women drivers who do everything they can to try and cut their carbon footprint may be pleased to hear Britain is taking the lead when it comes to environmentally-friendly motoring.
According to Elektromotive, the fact the government is investing £25 million in green auto trials should make the country a world leader when it comes to battery-powered cars.
It predicted the UK will have the most extensive network of recharging stations anywhere by 2010 as a result of the programme.
Managing director Calvey Taylor Haw said: "This is a hugely significant project that will place the UK at the forefront of global efforts to accelerate widespread uptake of electric vehicles."
By the end of next year, it is estimated there will be more than 500 charging stations across the country.
Meanwhile, female motorists may find they can improve their green credentials by taking their auto for regular car servicing to ensure it is running as efficiently as possible.
