Brits are 'crazy about cars'
By choosing a garage or dealership that has signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© women drivers can avoid being patronised, overcharged or mis-sold services at MOT, car servicing or vehicle repair times.
A recent survey has revealed just how crazy men and women drivers in the UK are about their cars.
The poll by vehicle information company HPI found 50 per cent of motorists give their autos pet names, such as Bessey, Muscles or Love Machine.
In 2003, similar research found drivers favoured celebrity names such as Kylie.
However, the latest study found people were getting a little more creative, with titles like Boomzilla, Moocher and Buster making an appearance.
Commenting on the research, Nick Lindsay, director of HPI, acknowledged it was easy to get attached to a set of wheels but he warned male and female motorists looking to buy a second-hand vehicle to be cautious.
"We advise buyers not to get too fond of their intended and name their car until they have conducted an HPI check and are sure about what they are buying," he stated.
Previously, the group has urged people to insist on meeting private sellers at their home address.
