Car confidence drops among foxy lady drivers
There has been a fall in the number of new car registrations among drivers in the UK - indicating a lack of confidence in the industry, according to a national body.
Statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show a 13 per cent drop in documented vehicles over July, with a three per cent reduction in volumes for the year-to-date.
Indeed, statistics from Argos reported by the Telegraph show that there has been a recent increase in the number of women picking up sewing machines in order to avoid high-street spending, as well as providing a female-friendly way to reduce their carbon footprint.
SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt cited the credit crunch as a major cause in falling sales.
He said: "Rising fuel and household bills, alongside falling house prices are making consumers reluctant to commit to new expenditure."
This comes as an official from froggybank.co.uk has stated that a number of women are looking to beat the credit crunch by joining its online savings programme.
