Foxy lady drivers may be paying out more than they should for vehicles with new 58 registrations.

According to uSwitch.com, some £168 million is to be spent on deals for automobiles with the plates.

The cars, which are released in September, should instead be purchased using a personal loan with a low interest rate, said the site.

It added that this method can save female drivers close to £826 in payments over a three-year period, money which can be used to pay a car insurance policy from female friendly dealers.

"Trusting consumers may think that purchasing a vehicle from a reputable dealer also means they will be offered the most competitive finance deal - but this is certainly not the case," commented uSwitch.com head of personal finance Simeon Linstead.

Recent research from the firm found that British drivers are paying more for fuel than motorists in Europe.
