Car seats 'should be simpler to fit'
Female drivers who prioritise safety may be concerned to hear the latest comments on child car seats.
Which? has warned some products are overly complicated to fit and some should be avoided altogether as parents are liable to install them incorrectly.
In addition, the consumer group stated a recognised car seat fitters' scheme should be established in the UK, as a high proportion of mums and dads do not feel confident about the advice retailers are offering.
Which? also claimed more needs to be done to educate parents about how best to secure their kids in vehicles.
It explained 60 per cent are unaware youngsters cannot simply wear a seatbelt until they are 12 years old or 135 cm tall.
Editor Richard Headland commented: "Unfortunately, there's still huge confusion amongst parents about who should be using a child car seat and not enough advice on how to fit seats properly."
Meanwhile, Which? recently advised that the government's scrappage scheme is not the cheapest option for everyone looking to buy a new motor.
