FOXY Newsdesk Carmakers 'keen to emphasise green credentials' 16 March 09
Male and female motorists looking to buy environmentally-friendly cars will find manufacturers are keen to advertise the fact their models offer low carbon dioxide emissions, it has been claimed.
According to Carbon Footprint, companies realise this is a big selling point and they want to let customers know they are making advances in this area.
However, the group pointed out the improvements currently being made are quite small.
Managing director John Buckley said: "There are some changes going on there, though it's more organic at the moment, rather than taking big steps."
He stated more significant advances would be made as technology became increasingly sophisticated and things like nuclear hydrogen power were introduced into the industry.
This comes after the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders recently revealed average new car carbon dioxide emissions fell at their fastest ever rate in 2008.
Carbon Footprint is a firm set up to offer advice to individuals and companies keen to do their bit to preserve the planet.
