Choosing a car carefully could help motorists cut costs
Women drivers who save money at servicing and MOT time by opting for a female-friendly garage may find choosing a car wisely could also help them reduce running costs.
According to research by Warranty Direct, Skoda models are the cheapest autos to repair.
The company based its findings on 50,000 policies covering 250 models built by 30 different carmakers.
Citroen vehicles were found to be the second most economical choice in this respect, followed by motors made by Renault.
However, Duncan McClure Fisher, managing director with Warranty Direct, pointed out the cost of fixing a motor was not the only factor to take into consideration when buying an auto.
"Repair bills may be low but the regularity with which you visit the garage could be high, or vice versa," he stated.
Meanwhile, ladies looking for a mechanic should find female-friendly garages only conduct necessary work and do not patronise their customers.
