Code may result in more female-friendly garages
Women drivers who dread taking their vehicle to a garage because they are unsure if they can trust the mechanics to do a fair job may be pleased to hear more businesses are signing up to an industry code of practice.
The latest firm to commit to the initiative - designed to make it easier for motorists to identify responsible companies - is Prestige Car Servicing.
It explained all of its outlets across the country were signing up to the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair to highlight their dedication to providing excellent customer service.
Fleet sales director Craig Archibald said: "Our vision is to have a national network that brings our customers an unsurpassed reputation for quality, reliability and professionalism."
Women drivers may find businesses who commit to the code run more female-friendly garages than their competitors, as by signing up firms agree to provide honest and fair services.
The independent car dealership Arnold Clark also recently announced it was joining the scheme.
