FOXY Newsdesk Drivers urged to go green
Foxy lady drivers prefer new car dealerships that have signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© to never knowingly overcharge, patronise or sell women motorists' services they don't need.
Male and female drivers are being urged to think green when buying new cars in 2009.
As part of its ACT on CO2 initiative, the Department for Transport (DfT) has teamed up with the motoring industry in a bid to help motorists choose fuel-efficient vehicles, which are cheaper to run and more environmentally-friendly.
People visiting the campaign's website can new compare the carbon dioxide emissions of a variety of cars, alongside information on typical motoring costs.
Transport minister Andrew Adonis said: "By using the ACT on CO2 search tool, buyers can choose the most fuel-efficient cars and see the savings on the screen in front of them."
Figures from DfT suggest men and women drivers could save as much as three months of fuel a year if they choose the right model.
Meanwhile, the government announced last September that learner drivers taking their practical tests were to be offered advice on cutting emissions and saving money behind the wheel.
