FOXY Newsdesk Eco-friendly technology 'to be used in more new cars'
Foxy lady drivers prefer new car dealerships that have signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© to never knowingly overcharge, patronise or sell women motorists' services they don't need.
Environmentally-friendly female drivers may welcome news that stop-start technology is being fitted to an increasing number of new cars in the UK.
According to Bosch - one of the companies that produces the systems, Fiat will introduce the device to its 500 city model from early next year.
Stefan Asenkerschbaumer from the company predicted the popularity of the technology would grow rapidly.
"In 2008, roughly five per cent of all new vehicles in Europe are equipped with a start-stop system.
"By 2012, we estimate this will be every second newly registered vehicle."
Another vehicle due to start incorporating Bosch's technology in the next few months is the Kia c'eed.
The firm pointed out that tests have shown the system can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to five per cent.
In September, Bosch reported local councils were considering plans to fine motorists who leave engines idling while in traffic.
