FOXY Newsdesk Electric car sales drop
Foxy lady drivers prefer new car dealerships that have signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© to never knowingly overcharge, patronise or sell women motorists' services they don't need.
Sales of electric vehicles have dropped by more than half this year, in news which may disappoint environmentally-aware women drivers.
Figures obtained by CleanGreenCars showed 156 models were purchased in the UK between January and October this year, compared to 374 in 2007.
This 58 per cent fall was revealed as the electric vehicle company Nice went into administration.
According to CleanGreenCars, the firm had been selling fewer than one model a week.
Editor Richard Bremner suggested "quirky electric vehicles" like the G-Wiz and Mega City may have had their day.
He stated: "Buyers could be holding off for cars from mainstream manufacturers, although they may still have years to wait before mass production is a reality."
CleanGreenCars said there are currently about 1,100 all-electric vehicles on UK roads.
Meanwhile, in news from the company which may be welcomed by green female drivers, it recently reported average new car CO2 is on track to hit 130 g/km by 2012.
