Female entrepreneur invites women to realise their dreams
28 February 08

Women with good business skills looking to set up their own motoring-related company may take heart in the success achieved by a female Yorkshire entrepreneur.

Deirdre Bounds, founder of ethical travel firm i-to-i, is calling upon women to take the plunge and realise their business goals, not only for themselves, but also to boost the region's economy.

"Business does tend to be a male-dominated environment, but it's up to women to play a more active part," she told the Yorkshire Post.

"Yorkshire women should not be so reticent and self-effacing when it comes to getting involved in enterprise and claiming its rewards."

Ms Bound added that everyone - including men - would be set to benefit from more females becoming entrepreneurs.

Prowess, a group of organisations supporting female entrepreneurship, recently told the Times that there has been significant growth in the number female entrepreneurs in rural areas.

FOXY Lady Drivers Club would like to see more women entrepreneurs enter the male-dominated UK motor industry because motoring services can be much more female-friendly.
