Female motorists 'may be better off avoiding exotic colours'
Women drivers thinking about buying a new auto may want to avoid some of the more unusual colours on offer, after hearing the comments of one industry group.
According to British Car Auctions (BCA), picking an exotic finish could prove to be a costly mistake in the long run.
The company acknowledged manufacturers are getting more creative when it comes to the various hues they use.
However, it pointed out the finish of a vehicle can have a noticeable impact on the amount people will receive when they trade their auto in.
Spokesman Tim Naylor said: "We would certainly advise anyone going for a more exotic colour to think carefully about the resale value."
He explained: "You may like Mushroom, but the next prospective owner might not."
This comes after a study by the group found silver had replaced blue as the most popular colour for used cars.
Meanwhile, BCA recently claimed prestige vehicle were selling well despite the economic downturn.
