Female motorists 'need to be prudent when picking an insurer' 28 March 08
Foxy female motorists have been advised to enquire about whether they can carry their no-claims bonus to a second car.
Price comparison site moneysupermarket.com has said that around half of insurance providers allow drivers to do this, which could come in handy when a family is buying another vehicle and considering car insurance for women.
"It is a little known fact that many insurers now allow you to mirror your no claims discount from one car to the next," said Richard Mason, director of insurance at moneysupermarket.com.
Mr Mason added that it is "prudent" to choose a provider that allows drivers to benefit fully from their no claims bonus, something that may strike a chord with foxy female motorists looking for motor insurance for women.
By using an insurer that mirrors no claims discounts in this way, moneysupermarket.com offers that more than £200 can be saved on insurance premiums.
Earlier this month, the AA's Deals on Wheels report suggested that 16 per cent of women drivers put safety as one of their top three priorities when it comes to buying a car, twice the number of men who did the same.
Find out how female motorists compare notes about car insurance policies and help other women drivers get a better motor insurance deal.
