Female motorists 'should check cars are in peak condition'
By choosing a garage or dealership that has signed the female friendly FOXY Promise© women drivers can avoid being patronised, overcharged or mis-sold services at MOT, car servicing or vehicle repair times.
With road conditions still treacherous in parts of the UK, women drivers may be well-advised to find a female-friendly garage where they can make sure their cars are in tip-top condition.
For those ladies who own a Vauxhall, Saab or Chevrolet, General Motors is offering such a service.
The winter safety check and top up costs £35 and includes internal and external checks.
Commenting on the importance of car servicing in winter, General Motors said: "On icy roads, in temperatures hovering around zero, all the key components of your car need to be in peak condition, especially where safety is concerned."
The group issued this statement in light of a YouGov survey, which found 13 per cent of motorists had put off making car repairs in 2008 in a bid to save money.
Last month, General Motors reminded owners of Vauxhalls, Saabs and Chevrolets they may be entitled to join its free accident support service.
