Foxy lady drivers 'can expect to pay less for car insurance'
Young foxy lady drivers new to the road can expect to pay less in female car insurance costs, according to new research.
A moneysupermarket.com study has found that the average male motorist taking out his first policy will pay around £2,841 per year, while women drivers pay almost £1,200 less.
The research added that 42 per cent of female motorists pass their practical test at the first time of asking.
It may be that this statistic is improved if learners use a female friendly instructor group.
"I advise taking a Pass Plus course, adding an older driver to your policy and consider buying an older car which may be easier to insure," commented Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at the price comparison website.
One foxy female driver who took a few goes to pass her test was Maureen Rees, star of the BBC's Driving School series.
The Welsh cleaner did eventually pass - despite running over her husband's foot.
