Foxy lady drivers 'not dumping as many cars'
Dumping a vehicle may sometimes seem as natural as cutting loose a sub-par boyfriend for some female drivers.
But new research from the Local Government Association (LGA) has found that there has been a fall in the number of abandoned cars across the UK.
In the East Midlands, figures show an 84 per cent drop, while the south-west has seen 77 per cent fewer dumped automobiles.
According to LGA councillor Paul Bettison, chairman of the environment board, this is due to a three-pronged action plan taken by officials.
"People tell us that these eyesores make them feel unsafe in their own neighbourhood and figures like these show councils up and down the country are working hard to make people feel safe and secure," he added.
This comes after a recent Motorpoint survey found that women drivers in the UK are looking to get rid of their current vehicles and downsize to a smaller car.
