Free road tax for women buying new Citroens 19 May 08
Female motorists looking to reduce their road tax costs could take advantage of a unique offer from one car maker.
Citroen is offering a year's free road tax for people buying new versions of its models throughout the month of May.
The company said it wanted to ensure motoring remained affordable in times of rising UK fuel prices and living costs.
Citroen said: "The offer extends to the entire Citroen range which includes the economical C1, C2 and C3 superminis, the award winning Grand C4 Picasso MPV and the C5 saloon."
The company added its vehicles were a good overall bet for women drivers looking to cut fuel costs, with models like the C1 doing around 68.9mpg.
Citroen is billing itself as a maker of vehicles offering "a frugal and stylish option" as driver awareness of fuel tax and emissions increases.
Last month the firm revealed it wanted to develop a new series of low-emission engines at two new European plants.
The first facility, with an annual capacity of 600,000 engines, is planned to be operational by 2011.
