Golf 'could be great choice for families'
Female motorists looking to buy a vehicle that is suitable for transporting the kids about may be impressed to hear the Volkswagen Golf has been named Best Small Family Car.
Scooping the title at the Fleet News Awards, the model was praised for its economical engines and high-quality build.
The judging panel said: "The Golf offers fantastic value for money and has set the benchmark for the sector once again."
Volkswagen's head of fleet services Vincent Kinner expressed delight at winning the award.
Women drivers thinking about buying the model will find it comes with a number of safety features, including seven airbags and the Electronic Stabilisation Programme.
The excellent protective credentials of the vehicle were confirmed a few weeks ago when it received a maximum five-star rating from the independent crash test group Euro Ncap.
Earlier this year, the Golf was also named What Car? magazine's Best Small Family Car.
