Green BMWs could tempt female drivers
Female drivers keen to enhance their environmentally-friendly credentials could be tempted by a BMW, after the marque performed well at the What Car? awards recently.
The brand's 3 Series retained the title of Best Compact Executive brand for the fourth year in a row.
Klaus Kibsgaard, managing director of BMW UK, said it was a "pleasure" for the organisation to have its green endeavours recognised.
He added: "The BMW 3 Series is the lifeblood of our model portfolio and this prestigious award adds further weight to its class-leading position in the eyes of buyers."
The marque notes the honour from What Car? follows the news that BMW took home the title of Engine Development Team of the Year from the Automotive Testing Technology International Awards 2008.
Earlier this month, the brand announced the launch of its most fuel-efficient and least polluting vehicle, the 116d, which is greener than the current Wold Green Car of the Year, the 118d.
