Hiding keys may help ladies protect cheap cover
Female motorists keen to protect the cheap premiums they secured by buying specialist insurance for women drivers may want to make sure they hide their car keys when they get home each evening.
According to figures provided by Vauxhall, some £39.5 million worth of vehicles were stolen in the UK last year as the result of house burglaries.
The manufacturer announced it is working in partnership with Bedfordshire Police to highlight the importance of keeping keys out of sight of prying eyes.
It explained it decided to get involved with the campaign after conducting research that found 99 per cent of motorists do not give any thought to hiding this important item.
Group spokesman Simon Ewart said: "It's easy to forget that a car key is a valuable possession that needs to be kept safe."
Meanwhile, ladies who have managed to avoid a claim for some years may find they have access to the best deals on specialist insurance for women drivers.
