Highways Agency launches new safety guide
Women drivers with disabilities may find a new guide from the Highways Agency can help them to stay safe on the road.
The government department revealed it had taken on board the views of more than 370 motorists before producing My Way magazine.
It explained the publication was designed to ensure it was offering the best possible service to all drivers.
Diversity manager Nicky Ensert stated: "To do this, we are actively working to understand the barriers that the trunk road network and our way of doing things may present for our disabled customers."
The guide offers information on the best way to prepare for trips in the car, as well as tips on how to cope in an emergency.
On top of this, the magazine also advises drivers on where to find the most up-to-date traffic news.
Meanwhile, motorists who are concerned about road safety may find regular car servicing can help to ensure their vehicles do not develop the kind of faults that could lead to an accident.
