Hyundai's added benefits may tempt women drivers
Female motorists planning to take advantage of the scrappage scheme may be tempted by the added benefits being offered by Hyundai.
The manufacturer has claimed it is enjoying great success as a result of the initiative because its autos come with a great package of added extras.
It also pointed out - unlike some other carmakers - it has not pushed up its prices.
Managing director Tony Whitehorn suggested it was not surprising the i20 had secured 5,000 orders since the launch of the programme.
He explained some comparative mainstream models cost 30 per cent more than the supermini.
Mr Whitehorn stated: "That's too big a difference to ignore, especially as the i20 has a better Ncap rating, a longer warranty and a generous level of equipment."
In total, Hyundai has taken 17,000 orders under the cash for bangers programme.
However, ladies who do not qualify to take part in the scheme may find regular car servicing can help keep their current auto in peak condition for a few more years.
