Ladies may benefit from garages agreeing to code
Women drivers who have struggled to find a female-friendly garage in the past may welcome a call from one automotive body.
The Vehicle & Operator Services Agency has appealed to more MOT centres to demonstrate their support for the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair.
It stated that by signing up businesses could demonstrate their commitment to providing customers with the best possible experience.
Companies who agreed to abide by the principles laid out in the code promise to employ conscientious and competent staff, as well as offering open and transparent pricing – among other benefits.
Joining the scheme incurs an annual charge of £75.
Vosa's chief operating officer, Alex Fiddes, said: "We would encourage MOT garages to sign up to industry codes and seek to improve standards for motorists."
Meanwhile, women drivers looking for somewhere to book their auto in for car servicing may find female-friendly firms are guided by similar principles.
