Ladies looking for a new car that will see them through summer and beyond may want to pay a visit to their local Mazda dealership.

The manufacturer has reminded male and female motorists the 2009 edition of the Mazda MX-5 is now available in showrooms up and down the country.

Available in both soft-top and roadster coupe versions, the model boasts better green credentials than its predecessor.

Women drivers opting for the edition with a MZR 1.8i engine will find CO2 emissions have fallen from 174 g/km to 167 g/km.

In addition, ladies may discover the new model can help them make savings at the pump – as fuel economy has been boosted from 38.7 mpg to 40.4 mpg.

Jeremy Thomson, managing director of the company, stated: "The 2009 MX-5 effectively builds on the qualities that have made the Mazda's two-seater roadster the best-selling sportscar in the world."

Meanwhile, ladies who have an old banger to trade in should be able to get a competitive finance deal, it has been suggested.

The firm recently claimed it would not be withdrawing its best offers from people taking part in the government's scrappage scheme.
