Men 'more likely to cause accidents' in jams 27 June 08
Men are at greater risk of causing accidents in traffic jams as they are more likely to get angry during delays, experts have said.
A study by a car insurance firm found men are more likely to experience road rage than their female driver counterparts.
For women motorists, getting lost or travelling in bad weather is more likely to make them stressed, according to the research.
Frank Adler, of NRMA Insurance, which commissioned the study, said: "Interestingly, men's patience was more likely to fray when fighting heavy traffic, with more men admitting it made their stress levels spike. Stress can cloud driving judgement for both men and women."
To complete the poll, the firm asked Woolcott Research to poll 1,000 Australian households on their driving habits.

UK government figures have shown males are responsible for a whopping 88 per cent of all driving offences.
