Mercedes E 500 Sport "on the road to nowhere"
Those after a women's car insurance quote for the new Mercedes E 500 Sport might be discouraged to hear it is "on the road to nowhere", according to Jeremy Clarkson.
He gave it one star out of a possible five in his weekly Times Driving column, saying the steering was "inert" and the brakes were "as uninterested as the engine".
Clarkson, who compared many of the E 500's features to a Jaguar, said some of the parts and accessories felt "gimmicky" - unlike other Mercedes series cars.
The motoring expert also examined it next to the BMW 5-Series, but admitted it did not look as good and was "boring".
"Worse than that, it probably signals that the end of the road for the four-door saloon car is not very far away," he added.
The column comes a day after the latest episode of Top Gear was screened. Yesterday's (July 19th) episode featured actress Sienna Miller as the star in a reasonably-priced car.
