Millions pumped into green car innovation 14 May 08
A cleaner driving experience is a step closer for environmentally-conscious women drivers after the government said it would pump £23 million into green schemes. An investment of more than £2 billion is being overseen by the Technology Strategy Board to boost British environmental innovation. The Green Car Website said this would include more than £20 million for 16 green schemes which would help cut emissions by making vehicles more energy efficient. The site said schemes would "cover everything from fuel cells to making lightweight car bodies". Key points include the arrival of the electric-powered black cab in 2012 and attempts to address the limited range of many vehicles than run on battery power. Female motorists could also be interested in the impending arrival of the Axon 60 car at the Sexy Green Car Show later this month. The vehicle could provide a glimpse of the future of driving as it uses hybrid technology and is designed to do 100mpg. Find out how foxy lady drivers run greener cars.
