Motorists urged to spring clean
With spring in the air, now could be the perfect time for women drivers to start thinking about looking for a female-friendly garage to carry out simple car repairs, it has been suggested.
According to the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF), dirt tends to build up over the winter and this needs removing.
It said once this has been done, it may become apparent that other work is necessary and owners may decide it is time to get some professional help.
RMIF director Sue Robinson said: "When having a service of any form of work carried out on your car use a reputable garage - be it the dealer who sold you the car or a local independent garage."
As well as ensuring the bodywork is in good condition, motorists were also advised to check tyre pressure and depth meet minimum legal standards.
Women drivers looking for a car servicing firm may benefit from researching female-friendly garages, so they can be confident only necessary work will be carried out.
