An electronics manufacturer has sent sat nav manufacturers back to the drawing board to produce a device aimed at women drivers.

Medion is releasing the GoPal E3215 Glamour Edition device, available in a female friendly pearlescent pink colour.

On sale from next month, the gadget is also set to come with a matching bag and will have pre-loaded locations like shopping centres and hair salons.

According to Register Hardware, the device also comes with traffic updates allowing women drivers to "navigate around, say, traffic jams in real time".

The site also says the device will be supplied with travel guides to European cities and will be available for £150.

Medion also produces the GoPal P4220 system, featuring a 1GB internal memory and split screen function.

The device also has fixed speed camera locations pre-loaded into its memory, meaning it can issue warnings to drivers as they approach a device.
