Police to offer crime reduction advice
Female motorists from Wheatley in the Thames Valley who are concerned about car crime in their area may want to attend a police surgery next week.
Officers will be on hand between 14:00 and 16:00 GMT at Wheatley Primary School in Littleworth Road to offer advice and security mark items like satnavs.
PC Abi Derbyshire said: "This is a good chance to come along and meet us and to speak to us about any issues of concern that you might have."
Children at the school hosting the event will also be given a talk regarding criminal damage.
Women drivers who have had a window on their car smashed by thieves looking to steal satnavs or other items - and who do not want to make a claim on their insurance - may find a female-friendly garage can help.
Such establishments agree not to patronise or overcharge - and they will only conduct work that really needs carrying out.
