Private plates may make a good gift
Female shoppers looking to buy a present for a horse racing fan may want to pay a visit to an auction next month.
The DVLA Personalised Registrations' sale is a three-day event that gets underway on June 3rd at Wychwood Park in Crewe - and organisers have suggested one lot going under the hammer could be perfect for gamblers or even investors.
HOT 71P is one of a number of quirky plates up for grabs, including NOT 600D, ELV 115S and H0T 80T.
Organisers pointed out buyers will not necessarily have to shell out a fortune for such lots either - with reserve prices starting from £350.
However, some of the plates on offer are expected to generate a significant amount of interest.
Organisers revealed they expect 3 O to prove popular - after 1 O and 2 O raised £210,242 and £142,294 recently.
Marketing manager Damian Lawson commented: "While we are hopeful our high-value registrations like 3 O and 7 T will generate large sums, HOT 71P is typical of the scores of fun plates being auctioned."
Earlier this month, DVLA Personalised Registrations unveiled the upcoming 59-series.
