Renault has released a new version of a car popular with women drivers including four eco models.

The Clio Sport Tourer features greater load space and sporty looks, while a removable boot floor conceals extra storage space.

Renault said the new model has 50 per cent more boot space than the regular Clio and is suitable for active lifestyles and family outings.

The firm said the car offered "impressive standard equipment, innovative features, greater load space and practicality, combined with all the style and exterior good looks Clio is renowned for".

Female drivers looking for an economical new vehicle could also be interested in the car's engine options.

Four of the choices on offer are Renault eco2 vehicles, meaning they meet a strict criteria of emissions of less than 140g/km and are 95 per cent recyclable.

Foxy Lady drivers looking for a new car could also be tempted by the Clio Sport Tourer's Dynamique trim, which includes automatic headlights and windscreen wipers.

Renault recently revealed its Modus model had won the small MPV category at the Environmental Transport Association's Green Car Awards.
