Scrappage scheme may help protect cheap cover
Women drivers who have built up a good no-claims bonus on their car insurance may find taking part in the scrappage scheme can help them protect their cheap premiums, if the comments of one firm are anything to go by.
According to Bosch, the cash for bangers initiative is the perfect opportunity for motorists to trade in an old auto for a brand new model with much better safety credentials.
The group said buyers should keep an eye open in particular for vehicles fitted with its Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
It explained in situations where drivers are required to slam the brakes on, this system can prevent skidding and help avert an accident.
Director of RoadSafe Adrian Walsh backed Bosch's comments.
He stated: "This scheme now gives ... [drivers] the opportunity to reduce their risk significantly by buying a modern ESP-equipped car - they should jump at it."
Female motorists may also find purchasing a vehicle with plenty of safety features gives them access to the cheapest deals on specialist insurance for women drivers.
