It stated its mechanics are coming across an increasing number of cases where issues could have been avoided if regular checks had been carried out.
The firm added vehicle owners who do not look after their autos properly are risking invalidating their warranties and roadside assistance cover.
Automotive director Lee Taylor commented: "Motorists could reduce the number of breakdowns by sticking to some simple car care rules and more crucially, quickly addressing any problems which arise."
