Sporty Seat may appeal to drivers keen to downsize
Women drivers looking to downsize in order to cut motoring costs may be impressed with the latest offering from Seat.
The Ibiza ST is due to be released in the UK next year and the manufacturer suggested those who opt for the car will not be expected to compromise on style.
According to the company, it was keen to produce a sporty little supermini estate for this "traditionally dowdy market sector".
The man behind the new car is the firm's design chief Luc Donckerwolke - who has experience working for Lamborghini.
Peter Wyhinny, head of Seat UK, said: "The addition of a great-looking, sporty and practical Ibiza ST to our fast-growing range is a very exciting development."
He predicted the model would appeal to a wide variety of drivers in the UK, adding he was looking forward to its launch in 2010.
Meanwhile, the five-door and SC versions of the car recently received recognition at the Red Dot awards in Germany.
