Sticking to the limit could save women cash
Women drivers in the Thames Valley area keen to protect their cheap car insurance premiums may want to make sure they stick to the speed limit.
Police in the region have been conducting safety campaigns, which they said are intended to "make people think twice about breaking the rules of the road".
Two recent initiatives run in Caversham saw officers issue some 36 fixed penalty notices and seize two uninsured autos.
PC Julian Weal - who organised the checks - said: "It is disappointing that so many drivers ignore the speed limit in a built-up area putting people's lives at risk."
He added the campaign was designed to combine enforcement and education.
The checks are intended to make Thames Valley roads safer for everyone, PC Weal concluded.
Ladies who receive points on their licence for speeding may find it harder to secure the best deals on specialist insurance for women drivers.
