Taxiwise warns female cab passengers to be careful 31 March 08
Female motorists who decide to leave the car behind when they head off on a night out are being advised to remain foxy when it comes to getting a taxi home.
With the start of British Summer Time this weekend, Taxiwise has said that with parties starting earlier and finishing later, an extra few drinks could lead people to make bad decisions.
"It's all too easy for people to have a couple more drinks than usual and then simply get into the first vehicle that pulls up offering to take them home," said Hazel Crawford-Upton, spokesperson for Taxiwise.
Ms Crawford-Upton added that people should only hail a hackney carriage or book a cab in advance, while they should also "take a note of the license number plate".
Taxiwise offers a number of tips for people about how to use a taxi safely when not driving themselves around, advising passengers not to sit up front with the driver and suggesting people use designated taxi ranks where possible.
