Vehicle crime 'falling'
Female motorists keen to protect the cheap premiums they secured by opting for specialist insurance for women drivers may be pleased to hear vehicle crime is falling in the UK.
Statistics provided by the Home Office have shown this type of illegal activity has dropped by 65 per cent since 1995.
Despite this, the government insisted it will not become complacent and revealed it is investing more money into tackling the problem this year.
The Association of Chief Police Officers' Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (AVCIS) will receive £300,000 to continue its operations in this field, instead of the usual £200,000.
Head of AVCIS Mark Hooper commented: "My team is absolutely determined to maintain the downward trend, which last year saw approximately 65,000 less victims of vehicle crime than the year before."
Meanwhile, ladies looking for ways to cut costs may find specialist insurance for women drivers is a cheap option, as female motorists are generally considered to pose a lower risk than their male counterparts.
