Volvo bosses auctioned off
Women drivers who visit a Volvo dealership in the coming weeks may witness company directors being made to get their hands dirty.
This is because the firm's bosses put a day of their time up for auction to raise money for Comic Relief.
Retailers across the country placed bids totalling some £3,000 and the directors will now be at the mercy of whichever outlets pledged the most.
Managing director Peter Rask went for £1,001 and commented: "Whatever the challenge the dealers give us, we'll know that it's all in aid of a very good cause."
He offered his thanks to everyone from Volvo who got involved in the auction and congratulated them on the amount of money raised.
Meanwhile, female motorists who prioritise green credentials when buying a new car may be impressed to hear the manufacturer is extending its eco-friendly DRIVe range.
All the new models in the line-up will be available to buy from the summer.
