Women drivers 'unsure about car checks'

Female motorists are not as knowledgeable about what goes on under the bonnet of their autos as their male counterparts, it has been suggested.
Research by Churchill Car Insurance found 72 per cent of ladies could not identify where they would go to check the brake fluid, compared to 35 per cent of men.
The study also found 44 per cent of women drivers did not know how to test oil levels.
In contrast, 21 per cent of male motorists were unable to explain how they would complete this check.
Ladies were advised they may benefit from learning more about their autos.
Spokesperson for Churchill Car Insurance Claire Foster said: "Having basic car maintenance knowledge can not only help prevent car breakdown situations, but can keep motorists - especially women - feeling more confident on the roads."
Meanwhile, ladies who are unsure about where to start when conducting vehicle checks may find a female-friendly garage can help.
