Women in Taunton out fox the recession
BSI Kitemark holder South West Motors in Taunton is one of the latest garages to join new female friendly garage network FOXY Choice where female motorists search for higher standards of customer service and can compare value for money at MOT and car servicing times.
All listed garages are required to sign the FOXY Promise to 'never knowingly overcharge, patronise or sell their customers services or parts they do not need or want' which can come as something of a relief to many women motorists who often feel out of their depth when discussing motoring matters.
From her base in Dulverton, FOXY Choice’s Head of Sales, Claire Boundy explained "We know from feedback through our sister organisation, FOXY Lady Drivers Club, that women are often intimidated by the largely male environment of a garage and the use of technical terms when discussing the workings of their car. They want safe, reliable transport, and to know they can take it to a trustworthy garage whose staff will keep it that way, but won't overcharge or insist they need new parts when they don’t. That’s where FOXY Choice comes in."
Simon Wadham of South West Motors Ltd added, "We have all heard of garages overcharging women for services or parts that are not required, so we are more than happy to join an initiative that recognises that we have invested in quality standards like the BSI Kitemark and are offering fair, honest and female friendly services to motorists in Taunton."
FOXY Choice is a free to use website, but for real savings, women motorists should consider joining FOXY Lady Driver’s Club which for an annual subscription of £20 provides a range of benefits worth over three times this investment, including free quarterly Car Fitness Checks worth £60 and a free accident assistance service worth £25, with claims advice and up to £50,000 of legal cover.
