Women 'judge men by their cars'

A significant number of women judge a man by the set of wheels he owns, according to a new study.

Research by motors.co.uk found ladies were three times more likely to tell a partner to pack their bags because of the state of his car than their male counterparts.

Of those questioned, 34 per cent said they would be put off a man if his vehicle did not project the right image.

However, some people may not be too bothered what potential suitors think of their motor.

The poll also revealed one in fifty people loved their auto more than their other half.

Marketing manager Katie Armitage stated: "We are truly a nation in love with our wheels and our findings show how many drivers have a special place in their hearts for their motors."

In response to the survey, the website has created a car compatibility calculator, which ladies can use to find the set of wheels of their dreams.

Meanwhile, motors.co.uk recently urged men and women drivers to think about buying British vehicles in order to provide a boost to the domestic automotive industry.
