Women motorists advised on overseas driving 25 April 08
Female drivers have been given advice on motoring abroad and warned not to slip into "holiday mode" when they drive overseas this summer.
The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has issued guidelines on driving in a different country and has given male and female drivers some hints and tips on staying safe while they're on holiday.
It points out that driving on the right hand side of the road in Europe can seem strange at first and recommends that drivers concentrate all the time, especially when tiredness is a possibility on long journeys.
Although many traffic rules will be the same as in the UK, the IAM reminds drivers that some countries do have particular regulations that are different and motorists must know the rules of the country and obey them.
The IAM was established in 1956 and is one of the UK's leading road safety organisations dedicated to improving the driving standards of UK drivers and reducing the number of collisions on the roads.
