Young female drivers in Lincolnshire may be among those motorists who could benefit from skidpan training.

Police in the area are recommencing their former programme of training for motorists under the age of 25 who want to learn safe driving skills.

Lincolnshire Police's driver training manager Clive Pouncey stated that young motorists are statistically more likely to be involved in traffic collisions in the county.

"The aim of this programme is to help to reduce the number of these casualties and fatalities by giving young drivers the chance to improve their skills and build up their driving experience, particularly in adverse conditions," he said.

Training will begin on April 29th and is likely to help young people reduce their risk of becoming a road casualty statistic, Mr Pouncey added.

Recently, a number of courses have been launched to help improve driver skills, with a Yeovil car dealership announcing its Women in the Driving Seat evening course will begin in May.
