With the automotive industry predicting some 200,000 electric or plug-in hybrid cars on our roads in 2018, Halfords Autocentres is the first national garage network to offer special car servicing arrangements for hybrids.
They have trained some 400 staff and promise at least one qualified technician in each Autocentre with an IMI Level 2 Award in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance (VRQ).
Hybrid car servicing choices
Halfords offer three levels of hybrid services which include:
Interim Service – 6 month vehicle service (from £89)
This is a 6 month, 54-point service which is designed for the high mileage car user, or where the manufacturer recommends more frequent checks between annual services. This service includes an oil and filter change, top ups of essential fluids plus brake, steering and suspension checks.
Full Service – 12 month vehicle service (from £159)
This is a comprehensive annual service, exceeding most manufacturers’ service schedules. It includes 81 checks and adjustments, including an air filter change, a top up of brake fluid, power steering fluid and coolant. High quality parts are used and wear and tear items are checked and recorded, using a colour code reporting system, for your peace of mind.
Major Service – 24 month vehicle service (from £215)
This 24 month complete service includes all checks in the the Interim and Full Services plus items that are regularly recommended for replacement every two years, including changing your cabin filter and brake fluid.
These hybrid car services also include a diagnostic hybrid battery health check, a charging port and high voltage cable check, inverter coolant check and brake binding check.
And finally, you can add an MOT from £15 to any of the above hybrid servicing packages.
