The UK Automotive 30% Club

The UK Automotive 30% Club

The UK Automotive 30% Club was established in early 2016 by Julia Muir, Gaia Innovation CEO, to bring together automotive manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers. The focus of the club is to work towards having women in 30% of key leadership positions by 2030.

Seen as best practice benchmarks, increased awareness, recruitment and career progression levels have been sufficiently encouraging to suggest that this percentage looks likely to be met and exceeded well before this date.

This goal reflects that of Gaia Innovation, which is to achieve the best employment and career outcome for women in the automotive sector.

The UK Automotive 30% Club is affiliated to the global 30% Club as the ‘automotive working group’ in the UK. The global club has a slightly different goal in that it has the aspirational aim of having women in 30% of board roles in FTSE companies by 2020.

The UK Automotive 30% Club is growing steadily, including businesses in manufacturing, automotive retailing and suppliers. At the time of posting this blog the companies involved are:

Manufacturing: Bentley, Ducati, Kia, Mazda, Renault, Toyota, VW Group (Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW)

Retailing: Burrows Motor Company, Group 1 Auto, Imperial Commercials, Inchcape, Jardine Motors Company, Lookers plc, Marshall Motor Group, Thurlow Nunn, TrustFord, Vertu plc
